Meet Moxie and see who we are. A Classic Rock Band.

Steve Penfound - Guitar & Vocals

There’s a reason they call Steve “Big Daddy”, and that reason is…..… Beer. Possibly too much porno in his formative years may have contributed as well. He started playing guitar when he was still just a little children because he wanted to play very badly. After all these years, he’s gotten his wish – he does play very badly. Now he’s in a rock & roll outfit and everything’s alright, don’t you know.  Being able to play in a band with his son is one of the greatest joys in his life! Time for a beer!

Jim Burger - Guitar & Vocals

Jim Burger (aka Hercemer Mortimer) has been performing in the northeast area since 1976.  Playing in a number of local cover groups, and one of the early instigators of the moxie band. Jim is a proud member of Cleveland musicians local 4. I thought I would join these schmucks so I would stick out a little.

Michael Zullo - Bass & Vocals

I like to keep things simple. I am still playing the music that I know and love. I joined Moxie even though they all wear shoes.

Dan DeCarlo - Keyboards & Vocals

I was invited to join in August of 2018 to round out the current lineup and help in the rebirth of Moxie which was originally formed in’89. It was a brutal audition…solo performance, recording devices, no amplification, white hot spotlight, beads of sweat, was offered no beverage (not even water), and a two week waiting period. However, having played with Mike in previous projects over recent years, I had the inside track to become the keyboard player/vocalist for this awesome, talented group of musicians, and the expertise mix from our sound man. Looking forward to many more shows and playing for Moxie Nation. Is it me, or is it loud in here?

Jesse Penfound - Drums & Vocals

Jesse is definitely one of the drummers of all time. His most notable accomplishments include neatly folding a fitted sheet one time and finally mastering how to eat with a fork. Jesse thrives in his profession – the only things he hits harder than his drums are his customers’ cars at work, with a hammer. Just kidding! (Or am I?) The longest, most agonizing gig Jesse has ever played was his four-year music degree at BW. That degree is also probably the most absurdly expensive piece of paper on the planet. During his time at the Conservatory, Jesse learned how to play the drum beat to AC/DC’s Back In Black. In his spare time, Jesse likes to spend obscene amounts of money on his girlfriend and his cat, write crappy unfinished original songs, modify his cars until they are unreliable and questionably legal, and curate his prized collection of vintage and rare Hot Wheels.
